Abd Allah Ibn Umar

Birth:

Death:

The persistent and repentant to Allah. Ibn Umar who passed away at the age of 85 commenced his companionship with the Prophet (PBUH) when he was only 13. When he accompanied his father to the battle of Badr, hoping to have a place among the mujahideen, he was sent back by the Prophet (PBUH) due his young age. Ibn Umar was persistent, repentant, never deviating from his path, never breaking the oath of allegiance, which he had sworn, and sincere adherence to the Prophet's (PBUH) model. He made himself a 'friend of the night', praying at night, and crying, and asking forgiveness during its latter hours before daybreak. Ibn Umar being a successful merchant was a man of high income but he spent his wealth on the poor, the needy, and beggars.
