Bangladesh's journalist, politician and businessman.
Kabir was director of several banks and insurance companies before he became managing director of the Sangbad in 1954. He served as its editor (1972-2001) and chief editor in 2001.
Kabir's interest in politics led him into the East Pakistan Legislative Assembly in 1965. After 26 March 1971, Kabir, became active in the war of liberation of Bangladesh that followed and was arrested by the Pakistan army.
Kabir founded the Ganotantri Party in the 1980s and was actively involved with left leaning politics throughout his life.
Ahmedul Kabir was born in a village in Narsingdi, Bangladesh and died of his illness in a hospital in Kolkata, India.
