Ali Muhammad Khusrau
Birth:1925
Death:2003
Eminent academic, economist and editor of India.
Khusrau taught at the Osmania University and the Delhi School of Economics, served as a member of the Indian Planning Commission, vice chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, ambassador to Germany, chairman of the 11th Finance Commission and head of the Aga Khan Foundation in India.
Khusrau owed his rise as much to his merit as to his great ability to charm friends and disarm enemies. Like many others in the post-1947 India, Khusrau too felt weighted down by the twin burden of being a Muslim as well as an Hyderabadi.
Ali Muhammad Khusrau was born in Gulbarga, in the Nizam state of Hyderabad, and died in Delhi.
