Artist Ali Jabri, for many people, was the eye through which they discovered Jordan, its landscapes, vernacular architecture, ruins, markets and contemporary downtowns, and above all its people were his driving force. His vision, communicated through his work and his life, was revealing to all. Ali Jabri was born in Jerusalem into a prominent family of intellectuals and politicians and was educated in Cairo and later on in England. A charismatic figure, he was murdered in his apartment in Amman.
