Al Baghwai Abu Muhammad Bin Masud Farra

The author of a collection of tradition much used by Sunni Muslims in India. As he was a vendor of Furs, he was called Farra. His book Masabihu's Sunna or lamps of the traditions was revised by Shaikh Waliuddin in 737 A.H, adding an additional chapter to each section and called it the Mishkatul Masabih or the Niche For Lamps. In the time of Emperor Akbar, Shaikh Abdul Haq translated the work into Persian. Baghawai also wrote Jami Bainal Sahihan, Ma Alim Ul TanzilL and Sharh Us Sunnat.
