One of the greatest Turkish poets of the 14th century.
He studied at Cairo and came to the court of Sultan Bayezid I (1389-1403). He wrote panegyrics for Suleyman, the son of Bayazid I. Considering the work of the Iranian poet Nezami, he wrote a Masnavi called Iskandernama containing 8,000 couplets. After Suleyman's death he wrote panegyrics for the new Sultan Muhammad. Authored Tervih Al Arwah etc.
