Soce Usman

Birth:1911

Death:1974

A Senegalese writer and politician. Soce Usman was one of the first African students to study at a French University. He wrote his novel Karim in 1935 and Mirages de Paris in 1937 and authored Contes et Legends D'afrique Noire and Africa at the Time of Independence in 1960. He founded the magazine Bingo in 1953. Soce Usman served as Senegal's Ambassador to the United States of America.
