Sabiha Al Dabbag

Death:1998

Iraq's female doctor and a campaigner for women's health in the Middle East. In 1973, Sabiha moved with her family to Oxford, England. She wrote prolifically on medical issues in the popular Arabic press, and in 1980s became a regular contributor to health programmes on the Arabic Section of the BBC World Service. Sabiha Al Dabbag died in a Liverpool nursing home.
