Mustafa Shukri

Death:1978

The Egyptian reformist who founded Takfir al-Hijrah a Muslim organisation in 1970s. Mustafa Shurki was arrested in 1965 but released in 1971 as part of Anwar Saadat's general amnesty. His organisation was alleged to have kidnapped and killed Muhammad al-Zahbi, a minister and, therefore, Shukri and other leaders of al Takfir were sentenced to death.
