Muhammad Bin Ishaq Un Nadim
Commonly called Abu Yaqqub, author of the Kitab ul Fihrist, the most ancient record of Arabic literature written about 987. The book told us that the thousand and one nights (Arabian Nights) had a Iranian origin. Nadim also informed us that the first book of this kind was Hazar Afsana and was composed by Humae, the daughter of Bahman. He was also known as al-warraq (stationer), as he was a book dealer. Famous historians like ibn Qifti, ibn Usaiba, Zahbi, Yaqut, Maji Khalifa and ibn Hajr Usqalani were indebted to him.
