Faqir of Ipi

A pathan tribal leader. From the village of Ipi, located near Mirali Camp in North Waziristan, Faqir of Ipi started his guerrilla warfare against the British Empire throughout the 1930s and 1940s until the British departure in 1947. Born Mirza Ali Khan in North Waziristan, Pakistan, he was known as Faqir of Ipi and was addressed by his followers as 'Haji Sahib'.
