Kashmir's thinker, writer, scholar and statesman. Maulana Tarabali stood for self-determination of Kashmir. He set up and was the first Amir of Jama'at-e-Islami in Jammu and Kashmir and also founded Azan, which eventually became daily newspaper. Maulana Tarabali set up schools, libraries and relief camps for the needy. Maulana Tarabali authored books on Islam and Islamic history. He ruled the hearts and minds of the people in Kashmir.
