Abu Aqil Labid
One of the seven great Arab poets whose poems were suspended in the Ka'bah.
One day he read the chapter of the Qur'an entitled Barat attached to a gate in Ka'bah and was so overcome by the verses from Qur'an that he declared that they could only be produced by the inspiration of God and immediately embraced Islam.
Labid was believed to be the tutor of Amra-Alqais commonly known as Majnu, lover of Laila.
