A Moroccan novelist and critic Khatibi's La Roman Maghrebin was published in 1968 though his first novel was La Memoire latouce. He wrote on Moroccan social life in Bilan de la Sociologies du Maroc and Etudis Siciologist Sur la Maroc and plays such as La Mort des Artisa and Le Prophet de Devoit. Khatibi went to Sorbonne in Paris for higher studies. He believed in commitment and was antagonist of French culture.
