The Maryam Centre, which is part of the East London Mosque complex on Whitechapel Road, houses a purpose-built archive strong room that was inaugurated by the Mayor of London in November 2017. As part of #exploreyourarchive week, the Mosque is organising a display from its collections and a presentation on Thursday 18 November 2021, 6pm – 7:30pm.
Professor Humayun Ansari, author of a book on the Minutes of the London Mosque Fund has described the archive as “rare, rich and unique . . . an element of our national heritage . . . important both for the Muslim community and society as a whole.” click here.
