Al-Farouq Mosque hosted Tahir Parvaz and Lotfur Rahman of the Canal & River Trust’s , Urban Engagement team earlier in February, Tahir’s presentation described how the congregation’s engagement in activities along the canal banks would serve to promote health and well-being through a variety of activities such as jogging, cycling and fishing. Lotfur’s theme was “Life is better by water”. He described the Trust’s Community Roots project, that aims to “encourage people living in and around urban areas to learn about, understand, value and enjoy the canals that pass through their community”.
